Pacific & School Games Success for SA

Three SE Junior golfers travelled to Adelaide last week to compete at the 2017 Pacific School Games. Six states and territories were represented with a total of 152 players.

Tilly Miels of Bordertown was selected to play for the SA  Girls 17 & Under Team. The Team finished 4th in the Gross Aggregate Team event and Tilly came 5th in the  36 Hole Individual Nett event 77,77. The Victorian Girls team, with an average handicap of 2, proved too strong for the other girls teams however,the SA Team did very well with the Boys 17 & Under Team finishing the week in 1st place. click here for details

In the SAPSASA 12 years and Under Team, selected players from SE were Mitchell Angel of Kingston AS and Joel Bryant of Tenison College, Mt Gambier . Both boys performed well with Mitchells Team winning the Ambrose Best Nett team event and Joels Team in 3rd place on the first day.

Mitchell’s team was also presented with the ABBOTT/BOWTELL TROPHY for best team Nett Score. Team SA Boys 12 years & Under finished in 3rd place and collected the Bronze Medal at the end of the week.

Last month Mitchell Handford of St Martins College, Mt Gambier travelled to Sydney with the SA Team competing in the Jack Newton 15 and Under Championships. The team did very well finishing second – well done to all SE Junior players. click here for details
